 Scooter the Box Turtle
When we acquired Scooter we were not sure of gender but later discovered Scooter is actually a female. She does not mind her name and we chose not to change it.

Portraits

Would you like a portrait of your beloved turtle/tortoise?  Jane Guttman, who did the portrait of Big Bertha for the raffle, is doing portraits on commission.  Twenty-five percent of the portrait price will go to Turtle Rescue of Long Island as a donation, so you can get a portrait of your pet and help other turtles at the same time.

Some fairly standard sizes for portraits (in inches) are:   5 X 7, 8 X 10, 11 X 14.

While Jane can do a portrait in a custom size, you are better off choosing a size in which you can get a standard acid-free mat; then you can usually purchase a standard-size frame too.

Prices are as follows (shipping is extra and depends on size and insurance):

5 X 7 portrait of the turtle’s head     $75
5 X 7 portrait of entire turtle $100
8 X 10 portrait of entire turtle        $125
11 X 14 portrait of entire turtle       $125-$150 depending on complexity of subject (whether you want a leaf or flower included, for example)

If you have something else in mind, contact Jane at pasdechat@att.net to discuss price.

Jane would need several good photos of your turtle, with close-ups of head and feet if possible.  Digital photos are also fine, as long as the resolution is good.
